BDS-ers attempted tbdso impose a boycott of Israeli products (BDS) at my trendy, hipster food coop in Brooklyn, New York.  All of FIVE products to protest Israel’s human rights violations against Palestinians!  Absurd on one hand that a political debate should take place at a food coop (see Jon Stewart “Daily Show’ www.jewlicious.com/...bdsfail-park-slope-food-coop-on-votes-on-boycott-of-Israeli-goods/-91k )

Scary:  Many members of the aggressive BDS faction are Jewish.  Of course!  Jews are leaders in supporting human rights for all.  Our strength as Jews is our ability to argue and disagree amongst each other.  Yet, we ARE Jews, and this we must remember.

Scary:  BDS accusation of occupation and the separation wall was conveniently void of the ‘why’:  Israel’s neighbors desire to wipe Israel off the face of the planet.  I wonder why the Jewish BDS members are not aware of this history.  Why is history so selectively forgetful?

Scary: I noticed, as I handing out anti-boycott fliers, many against the boycott rushed by seemingly afraid to be seen as anti-boycott.   BDS supporters were joined by groups of four and more.  Why were people scared to show anti-boycott and pro-Israel support?

Traveling, I asked about anti-Semitism in Vilna.  The response: “Where isn’t there anti-Semitism?”  Even the ultra-conservative TV commentator Glenn Beck said:  “What is happening with the food coop where they are seriously considering a boycott of Israel?”  When you use words like “I’m just anti-Israel” or “I’m just anti-Zionist” – that’s anti-Semitic.

Does Israel have a right to defend herself? (YES!)  As BDS prepares to re-launch its attack to boycott Israeli products, it is important to stay vigilant and educate and communicate with others about supporting Israel's right to thrive FOR human rights for Israeli’s AND Palestinians.
